Cast & Cure is a revolutionary technology that allows you to apply an etched image into a UV coating, to produce stunning visual holographic effects on the printed sheet.
CyanX offers a full range of Cast & Cure films including high gloss, matte, and holographic images. The casting film is the focal point for the Cast & Cure process and creates product shelf enhancements and the ability to reuse the film multiple times is where the process demonstrates true cost savings.
Custom holograms can be made to offer overt and/or covert brand security, this process can help with the most simple brand protection or the most intricate anti-counterfeiting programmes. As such, it’s an incredibly cost-effective method of reproducing a holographic effect.
Foiltone Cast & Cure systems are engineered and designed to work with your existing offset, sheet-fed lithographic printing press with UV capability.
The Cast & Cure process is performed at press speed and in litho register. The process utilises standard printing plates so that your make-ready is done in a flash. Most importantly, your operator needs no additional skills to operate the system flood holographic effect.
The Cast & Cure film is available in a variety of stock holographic patterns With Cast & Cure, you can apply a spot or include High Gloss, Matte and various Holographic images. You can also create a proprietary design for authenticity, branding, and security applications.
The film used in the Cast & Cure process is reusable, with customers averaging between 8-10 passes through the press.
How does it work?
The Cast & Cure process is the last process performed on your printing press. Cast & Cure uses a UV Duct Varnish this is applied with a standard lithographic printing plate onto the substrate.
The UV Varnish comes into contact with the Cast & Cure Film, releasing the image of the film onto the substrate where the UV Varnish has been applied. The UV Varnish is dried by a UV source, creating a holographic effect on the printed sheet. The Cast & Cure Film is rewound automatically, as it can be reused multiple times.
Eco-Friendly
The Cast & Cure process is a sustainable manufacturing process and meets the need for an eco-friendly solution. Cast & Cure uses UV inks and coatings to eliminate the unwanted and harmful VOC’s associated with similar processes. Cast & Cure eliminates the need to use foil board or other metalized substrates which are non-recyclable.
