Cast & Cure is a revolutionary technology that allows you to apply an etched image into a UV coating, to produce stunning visual holographic effects on the printed sheet.
Foiltone Cast & Cure systems are engineered and designed to work with your existing offset, sheet-fed lithographic printing press with UV capability.
The Cast & Cure process is performed at press speed and in litho register. The process utilises standard printing plates so that your make-ready is done in flash. Most importantly, your operator needs no additional skills to operate the system.
With Cast & Cure, you can apply a spot or flood holographic effect. The Cast & Cure film is available in a variety of stock holographic patterns including High Gloss, Matte and various Holographic images. You are also able to create a proprietary design for authenticity, branding and security applications.
The film used in the Cast & Cure process is re-usable, with customers averaging between 8-10 passes through the press.
How does it work?
The Cast & Cure process is the last process performed on your printing press. Cast & Cure uses a UV Duct Varnish this is applied with a standard lithographic printing plate onto the substrate.
The UV Varnish comes into contact with the Cast & Cure Film, releasing the image of the film onto the substrate where the UV Varnish has been applied. The UV Varnish is dried by a UV source, creating a holographic effect onto the printed sheet. The Cast & Cure Film is rewound automatically, as it can be re-used multiple times.
What products benefit from Cast & Cure?

Eco-Friendly
The Cast & Cure process is a sustainable manufacturing process and meets the need for an eco-friendly solution. Cast & Cure uses UV inks and coatings to eliminate the unwanted and harmful VOC’s associated with similar processes. Cast & Cure eliminates the need to use foil board or other metalized substrates which are non-recyclable.
